Hi, I'm Caleb Martineau
I'm a graphic designer who prioritizes the message over the medium. I believe that good design starts with a clear understanding of the problem, and that the best solutions are often the simplest ones.
Why Design?
Art and visual communication have been a part of my life since I was young. I took an interest in communication media early on, and it has been a passion that has driven my career.
Over the years, I've taken countless design courses and created a wide variety of projects that have helped shape my skills and my style. From branding to game development to digital art, I've explored many facets of design, always with the aim of honing my ability to tell compelling visual stories.
I learned that no matter the medium, the goal is always to communicate effectively and create a lasting impact. That goal is what drives my work. I don't just strive to make beautiful images, but designs that resonate real meaning.
Today, I work part time as a designer at Mesa Youth Creative Agency, where I have the opportunity to collaborate with talented creatives and clients to bring their visions to life. I also take on freelance projects that allow me to push my creativity and explore new design challenges.
Intentionality
Every pixel is there to serve a functional purpose. Design is not just about aesthetics, but about creating meaningful connections between the user and the content.
Goal Orientation
Good design doesn't just make things look good. It's about achieving specific goals. Every design decision should be made with a clear objective in mind.
Rethinking
As a designer, I am always looking for ways to improve and evolve my work. I am not afraid to challenge my own assumptions and to experiment with new ideas. The best designs are often the result of iteration and refinement.
Design Stack
I specialize in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, but I'm familiar with a wide range of design tools and software. I'm also familiar with game design principles and Unity. I'm always eager to learn new tools and techniques that can help me create better designs.
Technical Stack
HTML/CSS and PHP are my go-to languages for web design and development. I have experience building custom websites and applications from scratch, and with working from templates and frameworks. I also have a basic understanding of JavaScript, Python, and Unity C#.
Client Work
I have experience working with a variety of clients, face to face. I understand the importance of clear communication and collaboration in the design process, and I strive to build strong relationships with my clients to ensure that their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded.
